Announcement The Order Is In!

Yesterday, Michael and I took the big step in planning for our joint retirement and sent an email to Cary with our order! Now we are awaiting the quote. We had felt pretty sure we wanted the 560 Ultra, for the extra room and sofa. But the more we talked about it, we realized a 550 Ultra was for us. There's something about that teardrop shape, and the coziness of the 550. We have tent-camped a great deal over the years with a couple of cross-country trips under our belts. Small spaces are not new to us!

Michael is already retired, and I will retire early next year. Smaller living space, simplifying, being outdoors. It's all we need. We take ownership in April of next year. Oh, the wait will be hard!

Now we begin the flea market/Craig's List stage of our lives -- lots to sell and donate before next April!

Looking forward to being on the road! And to perhaps meet you!

So happy for you Michael and Diane, I think you're going to be very happy with your 550, looking forward to reading about your adventures!

One of the things we love about our 550 is that you can prop yourself up in bed to read, watch TV, etc. with bolsters and pillows. That is one of the very frustrating things about tent camping, almost impossible to prop yourself up with the soft tent sides. Our 550 is a very comfortable trailer and it was well worth the wait.

It is a hard decision. I know exactly what you are talking about. I love the look of the traditional teardrop and ordered it to start with. Then, I went to the NW Meet up at Mossy Rock and sat in a 560. I really tried to stick to my original order but after two or three months I changed my order to the 560. I am so glad I did. The extra two feet makes a big difference in comfort for me. They are both beautiful and I still love the look of the 550 but will enjoy it by looking at someone elses amd enjoy the extra space in mine.

To one Michael from another and Diane, too, thanks for your note. Glad to hear how comfortable you are with your 550! We agree, you can't get that comfortable in a tent when you want to 'lounge'. We've been stuck in a tent for days during big rain storms or really bad insect invasions (black flies, mosquitoes...) on our past travels, so we are looking forward to having the teardrop!

We heard from Cary today that our 550 is "on the schedule"! Not taking delivery until early April, but we are so excited!

    Best,
    Diane and Michael

    Hi Pat,

We did go back and forth between the 560 and 550 for a while, but I know we are solid in our decision! Tell us about the NW Meetup and Mossy Rock!

    Best,
    Diane and Michael

Mossy Rock is a very nice park with some great views of the lake. We were in the primitive area so no hook-ups. It was a great opportunity to learn how others are using and enjoying their trailers. There were three of us there who have gotten our trailers recently. I think fifteen trailers in all.
We got some rain and some great weather. Nice community fire in the evenings with everyone bringing food. Very informal and comfortable. I believe a good time was had by all. It is a lot of fun meeting and getting to know others who have these fun and practical trailers.
