For those of you that haven't seen them yet... here they are. I know Craig is going to put photos on their website, but he's probably going to wait until he can showcase them properly, without all the protective wrap. Since my trailer is being shipped in a few weeks the wrap is staying on until it gets to me. But, I think you'll get the idea.

The older style hinge required the aluminum door edging to be cut around the hinge. Looks like the new one allows the edging to be seamless and provides less of an opportunity for water to get in.

    Evan,

That is the primary reason. Good catch. The other reasons are we went with a much heavier duty pin size We went with a different, more robust mounting hardware setup. And in the case of the Ultra (shown), the styling. We always over the years received alot of complaints about the looks of a "piano hinge". This is the look we have always wanted for our doors, just that nothing existing worked for us. That is why we had to just create out own.

The non-Ultra models also are getting a new style hinge. It is a piano style looking hinge, for cost purposes, but shares the more robust design elements along with the offset that allows us to run the hinge over the door edging.
