Pick-up day.
After a thorough briefing by Cary and Craig, and a quick repair to our electrical plug (ground wire gauge my installer used was too light) we were about to depart the nest.
Craig said the weather report warned of possible large hail so we all checked the weather radar and decided to delay departure till it passed. All we got was heavy rain for 20 min. so we ate lunch and then left for Devil's Lake S.P.
This is our 1st setup in the Quartzite loop @ Devil's Lake. As you can see it was not crowded. It took a while to set up the side tent the first time but we got better each time. This one leaned a bit but worked out fine.
Here's my wife "roughing it" on her cell phone in the recreation area. She even cooked with our new cast iron skillet.
We know it's a tiny trailer but WOW look at this Wisconsin pine!
We took a hike on the West Bluff Trail at Devil's Lake. Here I am "clearing" the trail.
Devil's Lake is a nice park. We had beautiful weather. Here's a map of the trails, etc.
Here's a view of the boathouse from the top of the Bluff. It was a 3 mile+ hike that day. Alot of vertical climbing, some rock stairs.

On the drive to Wyalusing SP the road wound along the Wisconsin River, the water looked high all the way.
Here's our set up in Wyalusing. You'll notice we added the canopy. The weather was great that night, but woke up to rain. Glad we had put up the canopy.
This is the Wisconsin River just before it gets to the Mississippi River.

We drove all day through rain showers and arrived in a steady rain. Driving back to our camp site we saw two wild turkey's. We backed in and took a nap and read until the rain quit. That evening we walked down to Lake Pierce and saw some geese and their babies. It was perfect weather for them! Didn't even put up the side tent or canopy or take any pictures...too wet!
Date: May 14, 2011
Location: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana
Rain continued but stopped long enough to set up. This park was busier than other parks because it was Saturday. Many families probably arrived on Friday. Glad we had a reservation.
We spent two nights at Turkey Run. The canopy really came in hand with the continuing liquid sunshine. We had friendly neighbors and we passed out our first brochure! It was funny that we saw no turkeys at Turkey Run. Saw the turkeys at Rock Cut. All the trails were way too wet, so we hopped in the car to see some sights.
A short drive from the camp ground we found this covered bridge.
On Monday, May 16th, we awoke to sunshine for the drive home to Ohio. The lack of rain made it much easier to take down the canopy and side tent. By then we were getting pretty good at it!!
Now we can add 3 states to our map (as soon as I figure how to do it) and 5 nights of Joy.
