Just got back from a weekend at Lake Gogebic on the UP (Upper Peninsula of Michigan). It was a great weekend! The entire UP Crawl lasted for 10 days, traveling from Fort Michilimackinac State Park in Mackinaw City to Lake Gogebic. Due to family commitments, Craig & I were only able to go for the last weekend. Our Tearjerker chapter, St. Croix (WI & MN) hosted the 2nd weekend. Some people went for the entire trip, others met up with the group for a night or two along the way. There were teardrops from Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Illinois & New York.
Sounds like everyone had a great time crawling across the UP, camping at different state parks, seeing interesting sites & eating at new places. Heard lots of good stories. If you are interested in the particulars, go to the Tearjerkers forum for more info. Karl, the director of the Tearjerkers Great Lakes Chapter, was the master organizer of the event. He will be posting pictures once he sorts through all of them (Apparently, he took 1,400 pics!).
Tears Across the UP, eh?
