I wanted a place to carry “canvas” to keep it out of the trailer. The Yakima swing out adapter and a Surfmate jr. works well. I reversed the Surfmate mount to keep it close to the trailer. I also installed a license plate holder and ran a light wire with plug to the existing plate light. The clearances are just about perfect.
 
No drop down leg, its a pretty substantial piece of gear. Yakima does not rate it for rv use so I keep the load t0 less than 50 lbs. For a “light” set up I place a sunbrella in the rod holders.
