I had an idea the other day that I'd like to share with folks. The first owner of our trailer (#410) kept very meticulous notes of where he had Talend the trailer. I remembered that you can create custom Google maps, so I made a map of where the trailer has been over the years.

Camp-Inn #410 Visited Locations - Google My Maps

If you have a new Camp Inn or you're the sort that kept good notes over the years, this isn't a bad way to log your travels.

I think I’m going to do the same thing except with a real map I can put on the wall. Sort of what is at the Necedah mother ship. I’m new to Wisconsin and plan on doing a lot of local camping so maybe I’ll have a map of just Wisconsin also.

I like it Long! I spent a few minutes admiring the entire map, then zeroed in on Western Canada. Now that the border is more open we look forward to exploring some camping in BC.

um, how do you do this?

Go to Sign in - Google Accounts. That should be Google My Maps. You can "Create a new map" in there. Once you're there, search for each of the sites you want to add. Once you find it there should be an option to "add to map" or something like that.

Mine would look far less interesting....mostly I run around bugging the rangers in the Indiana parks :)

Good idea & I don't know why I didn't think of this. I use that with students all the time in class.
One of the photos at Bryce National Park's North Campground appears to be a Camp Inn if you look in the public photos. Anyone recognize it?
Here is Jeremiah #720's travel map:

Made my Icons a camper for the destinations, a house for my hometown, & a put a factory icon in place for the Mothership in Wisconsin. Added some pics at a few of the places, probably go back later and add some others.

You can see the cluster of my camping in the Carolinas & our 2 Long Haul trips out West. There is line of campgrounds between SC and our western destinations so you can probably figure out our routes by looking at it.

Warren and Mary Ellen,

I do recognize that 550 in Bryce. Nice find. It is the tow vehicle I recognize. It is a member on the forum, Brian and Lucy from TX. They sent us trip pictures from that trip in 2017.

Here is a photo of that rig headed to Bryce.

Bryce is one of the 2 places we've see a Camp Inn in the wild. We never got talk to the people though. We came in and they were already set up.T that is the other 560 in the pic, not mine & I don't remember the tow vehicle. They were gone all day after we were there and came in late that day. We assumed we'd have a chance to talk to them the next day. We got up , did a sunrise hike and when we got back, they had left. The campground host there at Bryce had been a Camp Inn owner, but he was full timing and had moved on to a large Air Stream by then. Nice guy and one of the better campground hosts we've had anywhere.

The other we saw was at the Hubbel Trading Post on that same trip. We had come from opposite directions on the road and as we were driving in I realized in front of me was a Camp Inn. They were from Santa Fe & you can see their tow vehicle in 2016.
