Sticky wooden latch on tables

    After a few months the wooden spring-loaded release latch on my tables started to stick and wouldn't spring back into place.

    I grabbed a phillips and backed off the pivot screw and this seemed to help. Has anybody else had this problem, and is there a better way to fix it?
