I was at this campground for the all Michigan Dutch Oven Gathering. This campground is operated St. Lorenz Lutheran Church which is on adjacent property. This campground is a short drive from downtown Frankenmuth, a touristy town that celebrates its German heritage.

There are 65 sites in a wooded grove, most with a fire pit, picnic table, water, & electricity. All sites are grassy but they are not fussy about rugs & mats. There are 2 showers which are separate from the restrooms. There is a dump station. There is a central fenced area with horse shoe pits. There is also an outdoor chapel area where services are held, at least the Sunday I left there was to be one later.

There were two gentlemen who patrolled the area in golf carts and would provide fire wood and trash removal.

This year the rate was $30.00 per night.

This is a nice campground that can work as a base for visiting the town and other area attractions. It is about an hour and a half north of Ann Arbor. It would also make a reasonable stop over location if traveling through the area.

A highlight of the event for me was a visit to the Chelsea Milling Corporation. They are the manufacturers of "Jiffy Mix" products and offer a tour of their facility, which we took.
