Solid red and flashing green lights

Ok. Not sure where to posts this...

We are out on our maiden voyage and noticed a solid red light on and flashing green light on under the trailer between the water tanks. Anyone know what these are? Something related to the water pump? Something else?

Jay,

Solid red and flashing green mean the charger is in it's second stage of charging. That is the absorption mode. Once that stage is complete it then goes to float maintenance. In that mode the red light goes off and the green goes steady.

Thanks. How long should it be in that mode? We noticed this in the evening after it had been plugged in all afternoon.

It was also plugged in while sitting in our garage the last 3 weeks.

Jay,

It can be in the absorption mode for up to 8 hours. Keep in mind too that this is the second stage of the charger, the first stage ran first.

Jay,

It is possible with a 2012 ci560 that your battery might be weakening, but I had another thought.

Dim lights reflecting off evening dark ground are more noticeable when flashing.

If you had Lights, Fan, or Dometic running or cellphone 12V charger when you saw the light (or recently),
their current draw will bring the charger out of Float state. High current draw can make it stay in
the first "Bulk Charge" state. Moderate current causes cycling between the first two charging states.
If the current draw is low enough, the charger can end up just staying in the Absorption state
until you turn everything on 12v off. Note, if you have the optional propane furnace,
the monoxide detector (tiny 60mA) is ON unless the master battery switch in the bin is turned off.

Finally, even for a "fully" charged battery it can take up to a couple of minutes after
replugging AC power for the charge controller to work it's way through the first two
charging states before reaching the steady green Float state.

By the way, I believe I read the charger was moved from the kitchen (battery box or cabinet?)
for better air flow to prevent overheating. Protected from tread gators by storage bins and water tanks.
Doesn't seem so crazy a place now huh...
