For those fortunate enough to get to Nova Scotia, have this below for lunch. Then take a ride around Cape Breton Highlands National Park returning to the same place for a lobster/mussel dinner. It doesn't get much better.

Hilditch, unless you have a deathwish I would refrain from messing with the sanctity of the DO in certain circles - especially ones where George is present :)

Just kidding - that does look good, but probably way out of my price range. :(

DOs have their place...sometimes we use them, sometimes we don't...just depends. I've been using them a lot lately here at home as it is just way too hot to cook inside. Oh, & it gives me a chance to try out lots of new recipes!

You'd be surprised how reasonably priced fresh seafood is along the northeast coast. Just can't get a good fried clam or steamer here in the Midwest. :( One of the reasons I love to go home! :)

Now hot sandwiches, that is something that there are plenty of here in the Midwest, with beef & pork being the popular choices, but served with mashed potatoes instead of the fries/chips.

I agree, if I am touring, more likely than not I will partake with the local fare. There are times when I just don't feel like cooking. My weakness is a good hamburger, or a good piece of extremely rare prime rib. I don't cook either one worth a hoot. I generally won't cook if I am doing "one niters" when traveling. But let me throw out an anchor,(not cast iron) and I will have something going in a Cast iron pot or skillet.

Yea, right Evan. Eight or nine bucks for lunch and $20 for a whole lobster dinner surely would leave your wallet flat. This place is not only a deal, it's food is a "9.4".
