We got some cheap airfare into Denver, so decided to return to a favorite place, RMNP. Got here Friday and go back on Wednesday. Weather's been perfect - 70's during the day and 40's at night. Renting a cabin that faces Long's Peak. Great hiking, with snow-capped mtn views all around. We have got to get back here with the TD soon.
 
Another 'right place, right time' experience! We saw this mother elk and her NEWborn calf while on a hike to Cub Lake.

Breathtaking photos!! Love the mama elk with her newborn!! We're headed to Colorado in July with a stop at RMNP scheduled. Even more excited now - can't wait. Thank you!! - Julie

If you have not been there before, you are gonna love Rocky Mtn. The views are fantastic in every direction! If you like to hike, you'll be in hiker heaven.

That was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Getting some good shots of hummingbirds became a quest while there - they seemed to be everywhere. This one stopped for a rest long enough for me to get off a few quick shots...

Love that hummingbird!!! Can't get over those coyotes "singing"!! Open mouthed photos....great focusing with your camera!!!

This is Mills Lake, which was a couple mile hike from Bear Lake.

The last mile or so was over the still snow-covered trail. Tougher hiking, but the views were great, and the streams and falls were running strong.

I am sure that you have mentioned what you use for a camera on this forum before, but I am just curious to know what you use. Love the hummingbird and coyote photos!

Hi Charlie, these were taken with 3 different cameras. The hummingbird and coyote shots were with a Nikon D300. The other cameras are a Canon G10 point & shoot and my cell phone, which I used for the Alberta Falls picture. They help me burn a few extra calories on hikes :-)
