Rhino Lining

I haven't even ordered our 560 yet and I am already exploring modifications.

Anyway, the Alcan cover is nice but I have had experience with auto bras before scratching the surface when it gets dust and other stuff between the bra and surface. I like the looks of the cover on there though and the protection from rocks. I was thinking of getting Rhino lining sprayed on where the cover normally sits.

Anyone ever consider this? Any pros/cons in doing so? The stuff works great in a truck bed and really protects it from dents, scratches, etc. It is permanent though...but if you leave your alcan cover on 100% of the time, then this would really not be that much different.

Thoughts?

Regards,
Jay

At Campinn Campoutt 2012 I know someone with a 560 had done that. I don't know if it was specifically Rhino, but they had taken their 560 to get it protected (the front just like the bra does) with truck bed sprayed on lining, it was probably Rhino, but I didn't ask the brand. I think they had the 560 at that point less than a year, so I don't know about durability.

Jay,

Sherry is right. A customer from MI did do exactly that. This was in preparation for a trip to Alaska. I got to see it on the return trip home. Worked great! It was the Rhino line. They had it applied so it looked just like our 560 Alcan, same side spat shape and such.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Glad someone asked this question. Read the reviews on the "liner" you go with first. If memory serves the Line X brand works better. I can't verify the reviews, I have never used a spray on liner.

The liner I has sprayed on my F250 truck bed was real grippy and once it got dirty it never got completely black again. I don't remember what brand it was.
