Relaxing Weekend

  1. We had a good weekend at Oconee State Park which is one of our favorite local places. We had site 24 like we did back in April. Good view of the campground lake and a short trip to the Bathhouse plus it’s kinda of isolated. Got in just before dark on Friday and put up the side tent but nothing else since no rain was forecast.

Saturday we hiked from our site to Hidden Falls (see pic) in the surrounding Sumter National Forest. When we got done we spent quality time in our hammocks. Park wasn’t too crowded and it was pretty quiet there.

The last pic I attached has our 560 Ultra & tow vehicle parked at Cuzzins General Store. It’s been closed for awhile but as the sign says there was Bluegrass there every Saturday night. It was small grocery & gas station but on Saturday nights the locals turned out to play. If you are old enough to remember a show on TBS 30+ years ago on the states, you may have seen the place. The show was narrated by Hal Holbrook & Cuzzins was featured in the South Carolina episode. I was glad to get the pic before the building is gone.

Got at least 2 more weekend trips planned for the Fall before we put Jeremiah away for winter, hopefully more.
