Propane Tanks

I had a woman at a propane distributor quote me $65 for a new valve for my tank if I came back the next day at 8:00 AM only, while I was on the road. Yea, well......

Northern Tool (& probably Harbor Freight) sells a new 11# tank for about $35. I think they are full.

One can get 14 meals for two or three + coffee from an 11# tank before they quit. They will quit with 1# still in the tank. We carry a small digital scale that tells us how many days we have left in the tank based on 1 1/2#'s a day after the tare weight + 1#.

Most towns have a propane dealer and almost all KOA's are happy to fill your tank, and you don't have to be staying there. We have only had one issue with our tank when it was overfilled. Other than that the 11# tank works great for us and as you can see in "The Finer Things" post under Custom Additions it actually adds to the look of the CI. I can't say a 20# tank does.
