Camping season is getting closer every day! Temperatures are definitely moving in the right direction.

The thing I love most about my Camp Inn is that it makes you get outside. In my every day, I work inside, my hobbies are inside. Taking the teardop gets us to see some amazing places, and forces us to get outside. As Yakov Smirnoff says "What a concept!"

One of the downsides of this is that, inevitably, no matter how much bug spray or citronella candles you put out, you are going to get bit by the dreaded mosquito.

I found something a couple years ago that made a difference, a little device that created a small point of heat that you applied to the bite -- and the itching would go away. Worked really well. Mosquitos no longer rule the night.

We had been using a cheap version of this for a couple years, and it works remarkably well. Push a button as you apply the tip to your skin at the site of the bite, and it gets warm. Apparently the toxin that causes the bump is broken down by the heat and the burning and itching goes away in just a few minutes.

My wife bought a new and upgraded version. Its gets warmer faster. The heat is not enough to hurt -- but you can definately feel the heat, there's nothing to fear. There are several versions, this is just the latest that we bought and we are really happy with how it works.

I get nothing from this --- I am not affiliated with amazon (in fact, I REALLY dislike Amazon,) Its just a great product we found that really changes the way I think of being outdoors...

Bug sprays are still needed, but they are not 100% effective. Its FANTASTIC to just pull out the magic wand and the itch stops within a few moments.

This works because the heat breaks down the toxins injected by the mosquito (and other bugs)

This is the second one we've had, as I said, this one gets warmer than the previous version. It's hot, but not painfully so. Once you remove the pen the sensation of "heat" or "pain" immediately goes away. We bought 2. His and Hers for the camper. I'm thinking about getting a couple more just to throw into the car glove box in the car.

Whoever came up with this -- I hope they are wealthy beyond their wildest dreams :)

I only "liked" this, but the last line is "love this" worthy!

Wonder how this works on fire ant and spider bites...

I don't think it does --- spider bites are actually digestive juices....skeeter bites are a numbing agent which lets them suck out ...what they suck out. The operation of the sting is completely different.
