WI State Park Perrot State Park

  1. Good, shady campground where the Trempealeau River meets the Mississippi River. We had Site 18 which right by the bathroom you see as you enter the campground next to the campground host. Sites have electricity, fire ring & picnic table. You will have to fetch water from one of the water spigots in the campground. Showers were in a separate building which also had toilet facilities.

At the park entrance there is a self pay firewood & ice, both cubed & block. Pricey but convenient. They do take cash/check. There are some non electric sites and pit toilets in some areas of the campground.

Nature Center near the entrance of the campground. Nice network of hiking trails & cycling trails in the area. You are right next to the Trempealeau Wildlife Refuge in this area. The park rents kayaks/canoes to use on their marked kayak trail in Trempealeau Bay.

Laundry in the town of Trempealeau. Pro Tip: While your laundry is washing/drying, go around the corner for a beer at the Hotel Trempealeau.

Nice viewing area to watch the barges come through the lock on the river in town.

Wish we had known site 36 had this view ( see pic 1 below) & it had a nice breeze in it too.

You do have to pay for a pass for your car $11/day or $38/year.

Great review. A very nice park, even with the mosquitoes that we experienced when we stayed. Great paddling!
