We got away for a couple nights at ChauRam County Park which is about an hour's drive from home. You are not quite in the SC mountains but pretty close. The odd name is a combination of the Chauga River and Ramsay Creek which meet in the park via a small but pretty waterfall. Hickory Trees had started turning but the next couple of weekends will be peak here.
Pretty lazy trip as we mostly just hung out in the campground which was pretty empty. My wife is recovering from a stress fracture. There were only 8 of the 23 sites occupied. We did venture down to nearby Long Creek which is an apple producing area and picked apples. That may be it for 2016 but we may try and squeeze in something in November but are schedule is pretty loaded with a trip to Pittsburgh to see our daughter at the University of Pittsburgh and family visiting another weekend. If we are done, we had another great year of camping. I think we did 29 nights and we would have had two more but a scheduled weekend was aborted due to Hurricane Matthew.
