We traveled from MN via I 90 to the Columbia George staying 3 nights along the way then to Cape Disappointment for 4 days then North via 101 discovering the Olympic Peninsula then back south to follow the George East to I 94 and home for a total 5,600 miles. I will be more specific in a "long hall" description and pictures after the wash, etc. We rarely had our jackets off and had temps in the high 40's some nights and we were never cold in our cabin (the forgotten item was our little heater but did not need it). A serious infection made a trip to the e-room and a 3 day stay in a motel in Mount Hood a necessity. What a vast land we have to enjoy and our 550 served us perfectly all 3 weeks. Now its washed up and dying to go again.

Do you have any recommendations for places to camp along I90? We will be driving that route on our way back after picking up the camper.
 
Only recommendation is to stop in the Black Hills. Mount Rushmore is outstanding visit during the evening lighting ceremony. South Dakota Custer State Park should be a destination.

we stayed at KOA's on our way west - so not much to offer for good campgrounds. But they are clean and safe and easy for overnight.
When I get time I will try to pullout the maps and see the names and towns.
 
I second the Custer State Park recommendation

It's a highlight of any trip to the area. Beautiful area; wildlife, Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, and good trout fishing if you're into it.

We stayed at Rafter J Bar Ranch in Hill City (Black HIlls) on our maiden return trip. Not cheap but very nice. While in the badlands, check out the Prairie Homestead. Original after you get past the over the top gift shop. A soddy combined with wood structure that looks like the pioneers just let for the day. Also in the Black Hills add the Mammoth Site. Watch for the pigtail turns... and Custer can't be beat.... Too many places not enough time.
