This was my life for 18 days in September.

Each day I drove about 25 miles down the coast.

I stopped at all the state parks and beaches.

I missed a couple of light house but the best is yet to come.

For long stretches most of the trip was beach after beach and pull outs were many.

I really got on tide schedule.

Each night I spent in a new park except twice when I spent two nights.

I first visited the Sea Lion Caves in 1964. I think it was the year after the elevator was installed.

A new day and a new park.

Still not the best light house.

I stop at as many museums as I can.

Still not the best.

Time to walk down to the beach.

This lighthouse was nice because you can go inside the old boiler room. But still not the best.

This life makes me want to become a beach bum.

I spotted a few surfers but the area isn’t know as a surf beach.

Finally the best lighthouse.

For $2 you can climb the staircase to the top......

.....where you can see the actual 1,000 watt bulb. This is still a functional lighthouse.

New electricity replaced the burning of pig lard decades ago. Yet the original glass remains.

More ocean views as my trip is coming to an end.

3A1E4654-2EF1-43CD-893D-9B89D7A56344.jpeg

But still a few more nights of camping.

My last park along the coast. I stayed in one more park near Portland.

I drove through this California park.

My plan is to pick up this trip in the future and continue down the California Coast.
