We traveled up to Moonshine Creek in Sylva, NC to join the Southern App Tearjerker gang for the annual Spring Fling. Fantastic group and another great weekend spent around the campfire with them. We packed up on day 4 and headed over to Cary, NC to spend two days with a college girlfriend of mine and her sweet family. Fantastic driveway camping and we caught the Alison Krauss / Willie Nelson Tour over at the Koka Booth Amphitheater (one of my favorite venues)!

Upon arrival the campground owner informed us that this was the 2006 #1 Pop-Up/Teardrop Site in the Nation. We'd agree.
Another view from across the creek. The rains the night before had caused this creek to almost crest the bank they said prior to our arrival. The 3rd highest rainfall the campground has seen in the 8 or 9 years that current owners have owned it.

Devil's Courthouse from the top! We had a cold front move in before our trip. Thought it would be "springlike 70s/50s" compared to our recent 90s. It took a dive and remained 50s/30s. Of course the Parkway elevation dropped to low 40s for the afternoon to
Samson the Conqueror! Hiking around the campground. This is actually a private, dog-free tent site on the other side of the waterfall bridge. Gorgeous.
