Discussion in 'Gatherings' started by Ruthie Swedlund, Jun 2, 2024.

  1. We are just back from our maiden voyage - two week trip from Abilene Texas two Virginia Beach. (we LOVED it) ... I joined TearJerkers on FB but would love to go to some Teardrop meet ups that are close to home..maybe texas/NM or OK or Arkansas ...I would so appreciate your input or thoughts on this... :)

    I looked at TearJerkers website, and noticed they have a chapter that covers NM. I dont do FB, but imagine if you contact the chapter reps in NM and TX they could fill you in on whats most popular.

    Some pretty neat stuff to see in TX and in NM- Big Bend Park, Chaco etc. Texas State Parks are very well maintained or at least the two I stayed in were.

    There are smaller private places; I found this really neat place with a small campground, via Ioverlander;

    You can always start your own chapter :)

    Tearjerkers.net is the official location of clubs and announcements, but as Kevin said, Facebook and social media are also used. I know our local director has been very good at posting there, as well as on Facebook, over the years. I'm going to do something silly --- I assume the other chapters do as well.

    You may also want to reach out through tnttt.com (Teardrops 'n Tiny Travel Trailers) --- they are mostly homebuilders, who dont' always look at "factory" teardrops in the best light, but this used to be a VERY busy site back in the day. I'm seeing a few active threads there...you may find something.

    Of course, there's always this virtual gathering :) Where'd you stay on the east coast trip? What did you see?

    Brian from DIY Outdoor Life has a few videos on Texas Bushwhacker camper tours. If I remember right he has gone there the last couple of years so it's probably an organized get together.
