Necedah Trip

We recently made a trip to Necedah while on a trip. Cary was gone, Betsy wasn't there, but we met Marty and OMG! They COULD NOT have been nicer! All the folks there were so wonderful. We had a problem with our TV and it was replaced, plus some other smaller things, but they hopped on it and had a "get'r done" attitude. They installed my Paper Towel holder in just the right place - I've been carrying it around for a year, afraid to drill holes somewhere that might be wrong. They replaced the gasket around the doors - my side leaked air and Marty said they had a better gasket now, so they replaced both sides. We found that we'd been closing the hatch wrong and had pinched the gasket around the back and a chunk was out of that, so I asked for it to be replaced even though Marty said it wasn't a big deal. To replace the TV they had to take everything out - mattress included. Of course we had our sheets, etc. on the mattress, so when they put everything back together it was better than how we had it!

Marty gave us a tour and I found out the pecking order, so to speak. WE SAW #500 TOO! WOW!!!!!

As we were about to leave, this man that I hadn't seen came out and Bill was talking to him while I was talking to someone else. So I go over and introduce myself and he says, Hi, I'm Craig....THE Craig? OMG! THE MAN....let me take my shoes off...is this holy ground? As we talked I told him that I only had two wishes for things to be different - making the bed was hard and I wished there was a place to plug my iphone by the couch - so he proceeded to show me where the plug was! THEN, he showed us how to make the bed easier! OH THANK YOU, THANK YOU! That was priceless! He gave us some info. on the future CI's, and when we had hooked up and were checking lights, Bill noticed that one of the side lights bulb was out, so Craig ran in, got a bulb, changed it, noticed the bra wasn't fitting the way he wanted, crawled under the CI on the ground, worked it around - it looked fine to me, but oh no, not Craig! He wanted that baby RIGHT! Amazing customer service.

He mentioned next year's CICO, saying it's the 10th anniversary and that we oughta come, but folks - do you know how far it is from Texas to Necedah? I am SO glad we went, but honestly I don't think I can do that drive again. I do all the driving and on the way back I developed severe back pain. We've been back 3 wks. and I've been to several doctors with the pain. Long story short, I've been having muscle spasms due to sitting so long and driving. I'm on the mend via chiropractic care and massage therapy.

Now, whenever anyone talks about Necedah and CI, we'll know what they're talking about and that is priceless! Oh! And we signed the board! ANNNDDDDD....We just paid off MiniMc and SHE'S ALL OURS! :)

Aren't they just the best?! It really is hard to say enough good things about everybody in that shop - their customer service is second to none.
Sorry to hear about your back, hope it continues to get better. And congrats on owning your CI outright!

    Linda,

Sooo, are you coming to the 10th CICO then? Never really did say. Nudge nudge, wink wink.

I am trying to work it in, but thinking it might not happen this year. Would be so fun to meet everyone, so we'll see.

Linda and Bill happy you got to Camp-Inn and hope some how you can strengthen your back so you can come to the CI CO next year. We only drive 6 or 7 hours a day and stop at every rest stop "have to go or not" "getting late or not" we get out walk around - stretch.

Hey ya'll - (that's hey guys for all you Yanks) -

It's going to be a miracle for us to head that way again. We LOVE the West and have a May trip planned as of right now, depending on finances. From Texas, straight north we have to drive through so much land that is NOT what we like and we've "been there done that" as far as the in-between states go. We haven't been able to use our CI like we've wanted and we've determined we WILL use it more this year than last. As much as I'd like to meet everyone, that drive is LOOOONNNNGG! But never say never! I'd LOVE to meet everyone and cook together!

I totally get that feeling one has of "the pilgrimage to Mecca" when showing up at the Camp Inn shop. I had a similar feeling when I was there in September picking up my rental unit, and got to meet Cary, Craig, and Marty. Your story about all of those extra details of service you received are EXACTLY the reasons why we have all chosen the Cadillac of tear drops for our lives.

Rick - you're right about the "trip to Mecca". It was great and just wish we could have met Marty since he's the one I talk to all the time. But it just wasn't in the cards.

It took me over a month to get my back straightened out. Turns out it was a severe muscle spasm next to the shoulder blade and after much massage therapy I'm well. Lesson learned was: get out of the car every few hrs, and walk around and rest. It's now December 6th and I want to get out and go camping but I can't because of the holiday shopping, etc., etc. Nice warm weather in south Texas and lots to see and do...but family first. Merry Christmas everybody!
