My. Pisgah for 25

Escaped the SC heat/humidity for the cooler temps of the Blue Ridge Parkway for two nights to reach 25 nights in our 560 Ultra by camping at Mt. Pisgah Campground. Only 100 miles from our home but we climbed to over 5000 feet and traded upper 90s for mid 70s. We went to the Folk Art Center on the BRP which had some works done in wood, pottery, blacksmith and a lot of other forms both on exhibit and some for sale. A few sites on our loop was a group of bluegrass musicians playing both nights complete with a washtub bass.

Lunch in nearby Asheville, NC at Wicked Weed Brewery which is a craft brewery with some funky brews and good food. One of the beers we had was called Coolcumber and was brewed with cucumbers, basil, & juniper berries. Strange sounding but it was very good. Downtown Asheville is one of our favorite places to go. Lots of good places to eat, good craft beer, great arts scene and all in a small area of town in the shadows of the Blue Ridge. And this served as an anniversary trip for as we celebrate 20 years in a few days.

25 down and looking forward to many more.

You are making me so envious as we have been right at 100 degrees here in north Texas for the past 2 weeks and there is no way we can drive just 100 miles and find temps in the 70s.....would probably have to drive more like 600-700 miles at least.

Happy 20th Anniversary you two & many more!

Casandra

One of the nice things about Upstate SC is you can be in the mountains in an hour, higher elevations in two hours or you can the other way to the beach in 4 hours. And short mild winters too. My brother went to grad school at N. Texas and hated the summers there.
