Does anyone know anything about LL Bean cast iron?
We found a beautiful LL Bean cast iron fry pan with matching lid that is fully coated in speckled porcelain except the bottom of the pan which is stamped LL Bean.
I am trying to find out who may have made it for them and how old it might be. Oh we only paid $10. for it. It is beautifully seasoned. I am unable to find any information on them.
    Thanks for any help.

Have you taken a photo of the skillet and e-mailed it to LL Bean?
They are a great company and should be able to tell you. In fact, if its damaged in any way they will probably send you a new one!!!

I have and they are researching it. What I know right now is that they sold one in 1984 made by Independence Foundries of Independence Missouri. But I believe mine is much older than that. We will see now that they have some pictures.

I think I read somewhere that Knight Foundry made some LL Bean iron. Haven't been able to find anything myself, though...
