Lamb's Resort - North Shore of Lake Superior

We took a trip up to the North Shore of Lake Superior. We stayed at an old favorite campground - Lamb's Resort, which is near Schroeder, MN. As usual, the Rain Machine lived up to its billing, but camping with a 560 is insanely easier than tent camping when the weather is less than ideal.

Ha! No - that is Thistle - a pet porcupine at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center. They were having an open house with free rock climbing and zip lining, which we took advantage of due to sporadically inclement weather.

They have a number of animals at the center that were rescued and are unable to be released. Thistle was found when he was 1 month old and orphaned. Intervention care was required for him to survive and he imprinted on humans, so he stays at the center.

Yep, I saw Bailey. Being from the Pacific NW, we agree that with teardrop you can actually camp in weather that isn't so great and still have fun. Of course, we won't be turning down sunny days though...

Lambs is a beautiful spot we have been going there since the early 50's. We will have to plan a visit with our teardrop.

Eric,
thanks for the reminder of Lambs - we are going up tomorrow and will be in site 2 I think that is right next to where you were.
It looks like the rain machine might visit (20% chance) but that would be just one day we are staying 7 nights.

Eric,
We had a great time. Site #1 does look like it is the best site at Lambs but #2 was great a little less private but we had good neighbors so worked well for us. Several folks stopped by asking how we got the beautiful site. But we called on July 4th and it was available - probably a cancelation.
