IN State Park Indiana Dunes State Park

This is a gem, right on Lake Michigan, less than an hour from Chicago. Recently redone, the campground is set among the trees along beautiful sand dunes. The beach is over 2 miles long. There's also great hiking trails through the dunes and wetlands.
