I know I saw this somewhere, but now I cannot find it. What hitch/equipment would you all recommend for a 2009 Forester (automatic), with a brake controller? Able to pul 560 Ultra (one day, I hope!)
I have a 2009 forester. I went with the Curtis Class III hitch designed for Subaru forester. It has a two inch receiver. For the brake controller, I went with the Tekonsha Prodigy 2. I had the work done by a trailer shop.
I installed the brake controller myself. It is not too hard if you have some mechanical ability. Getting under the vehicle to run the wires back to the connector is the hardest part. Make sure to follow the instructions for the unit you chose and put in the recommended circuit breakers.
