This won't interest those of you who are flying solo, but Alea and I rarely argue. Part of the reason for that is we set clear boundaries, such as clearly marking whose side of the cabin is whose (there's never any doubt - Alea gets half the mattress, the dog gets at least 1/6th and I'm lucky to get the remaining third). For several years we had his and her Miatas. Since Idaho is one of the less populated states, we were able to get custom license plates for our cars. But since we are now Miata-less we've installed them in our footwells in the cabin. They are short for His Zoom-Zoom and Her Zoom-Zoom (HIS and HERS & HIZ and HERZ were already taken).

I really like how you chose to re-purpose these! Would love to see a picture of them in the cabin.

I perfer the "driver" side of the trailer unfortunately so does my wife. Since I do the majority of the driving she let me have it but the side tent will allways be on her side of the trailer as a compromise.

This thread is funny! My husband doesn't care which side he gets, as long as he gets some of the covers! In order to avoid this daily 'argument' we are each bringing our own blanket!!

I am guessing Michael will sleep on the driver's side -- it matches the sides we currently sleep on!

We hadn't even thought about "whose side is whose?" until it came time to go to bed the first night after buying our CI from its owner in Minneapolis. Since it had been a really big day for us & it was already dark & cold outside, we just quickly agreed to take the same sides we sleep on at home....which puts Mark on the passenger's side. After 15 months of ownership/camping, I'm contemplating "Mutiny on the Camp-Inn" to trade sides! My main reason being it seems like our kid's tent usually winds up on the passenger side in the campsite and I like being able to just look (or call) out the window through the night to check on them. However, I'm afraid it may be a hard fought battle because that would mean my techy dh would have to give up the side of the camper with all of the plug-ins for his multitude of gadgets/cords!

Let's see, it's one of the following:
    1. We just flipped for it.
    2. I got the driver's side because I do most of the driving, OR
    3. I said "what ever pleases you dear just tickles me plum to death."

Take your pick. They all pretty much work. I know Alea would not have been happy on the driver's side if it meant a constant fear of tripping over hoses and cables in the middle of the night. And I think she likes being near the outlets (except when I bug her to plug things in for me).

All I do know is that if she's happy, I'm happy. So I try pretty hard to keep her happy. It works best for both of us.

BTW, I'll try to get a cabin shot of both license plates, as well as some better pictures of my "Princess & the Pea" solution to the problem caused by the storage bins under the mattress. It's been so cold in the garage lately I'm in too big of a hurry to get back inside the house where it's warm. We might be warming up a bit by next week.

The "tub" is the factory installed bin installed on the floor of the cabin for storage and/or the spare tire. So the talk about tubs and lids is regarding the exercise mats that I cut to eliminate the edge of the tub from being where I happen to notice it. Those mats are awesome because they are waterproof and they are dense/heavy enough that they don't shift around on their own. And if you've ever stood or kneeled on one you'd understand what great cushioning they provide. This is a VERY plush set up, and easily the best money I've spent modifying the trailer.

I'm showing this thread to my wife. Maybe she will start letting me sleep inside.

Here's a shot of the cabin showing where the license plates are mounted. There are rubber grommets that keep the license plates from rubbing against the woodwork, to minimize the damage if at some future date a new owner opts for different decor.
