Thanks to Evan and all who are involved in this site! It's already taking shape as a great resource for the teardrop crowd.
We've camped for 30+ years; first in a tent, then a pop-up, followed by a brief return to a tent, and finally last year into our teardrop. We bought a CampInn 550 Ultra SUV model in June and have taken several trips around the Midwest already.
We are looking forward to enjoying the site and participating when we can.

I lived in Chicago many years ago, well, Western Springs. A southwest train suburb. Great train service to the city. I used to drive a Porshe so no trailer pulling but I did have a roll with my tent, sleeping bag and a few odds and ends that I would throw into the back and head up to Elkart Lake, Wisconsin. Road America, where we would often camp, because we couldn't afford a room then. I loved the racing there, the exotic cars. There are many good week end trips around you. Try to act like a tourist, like it's all your first time and with new eves, and you will see and therefor do it in a different way. We were hard core tenters, but the transition to teardrop was pretty easy. You still have to keep some of that hard core camping values because you are still outside, like you oughta' be.

We hope to get out into your neck of the woods in the near future, as it's about the only area we have not visited. How long have you been in Klamath Falls?

    Ken,

I'll have to check the date when i get home but I think we have a trip scheduled that weekend here on the Maine coast.

Did you look into the Tearstock weekend in May with the Tearjerkers. We will be there for that one.

    Alan,
Our #3 child graduates from college that weekend so we won't be able to make it - TearStock, I mean ;)

    Hi Ken and Peggy,
Our camping history is similar to yours, except we didn't go back to tent camping after our pop-up. We are looking forward to picking up on 560 in May.

Have a great time in the Adirondaks! We had signed up to attend but just had something come up that requires us to cancel. We've camped in that area before and love it. The Adirondaks is our all-time favorite camping destination.

    Hi Bob,
Congrats on the 560! We love the Adirondacks, too - we camped at the Wilmington Notch campground with our kids in 1996 and my wife and I backpacked near Lake Placid (and stayed at the Adirondack Loj) in the fall of 2008. It is a great area and we're anxious to get back out there.
    Thanks for commenting,

It's a beautiful neck. We've been here three years and teardropped the whole time. Great access to the mountains, right on the east slope of the Cascades, with teardropping, hiking, kayaking. There's volcanos, lava fields, beautiful desert and the ocean is a morning drive away. Yes, do, come and we'll go to Crater Lake.
