    Hello, everyone!

I'm Bob Galkiewicz and my wife is Becky. We've been camping, canoeing, cross-country skiing and biking for decades, but as we hit our 60's, sleeping in a tent has just become too tough. When we saw an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune last year about the Camp-Inn teardrops, we made it a point to stop by the factory on our way to Devil's Lake in Wisconsin to tent camp. Cary then gave us a comprehensive tour. We liked what we saw, thought about it for a month or two, and ordered a new trailer in November. We took delivery on April 28th, spending an entire afternoon with Cary during checkout.

For no good reason at all, we wanted to wait until we actually camped in our new tiny camper before logging into the forum. We also wanted to name her first and that was a prolonged debate. We finally settled on "B&B" partly because she will be our "Bed and Breakfast Inn" for many future nights and partly because of our names: Bob and Becky. (We hope no one else has already claimed that name!)

After owning our new 550 for 3 weeks and after much anticipation, we finally, finally had a chance to try her out. A two and a quarter hour trip north took us to beautiful Jay Cooke State Park just south of Duluth, MN. The weather was a little cool - low 40's at night - but great for hiking and camping. (Well, a few black flies, and it's a bumper spring for wood ticks...) A mini-adventure at midnight occurred when we felt and heard a scraping noise very close. I opened the side door and found a porcupine gnawing at the front wheel chock I had made of wood.

Bottom line is that B&B performed even better than our high expectations! We're already thinking of little improvements to our cooking gear and sleeping gear to get ready for a trip out East sometime this summer.

    Bob & Becky,
welcome from another minnesotan. We have had our 550 for a year and love it. It hasn't been the best spring for camping but the 550 makes it very doable.

    Welcome Bob & Becky,

My daughter and I share our 560 and it is a B & B also for the bed and breakfast reasons.... but Towed Hall B & B. Have fun, enjoy, as we all do.

Welcome! If you run into any other teardrop owners that have previous dibs on your name, a beer will probably square things up just fine. :)

    Hi Jenn!
We are but rank beginners with a trailer instead of a tent, but we can certainly list what equipment we have. For cooking, we use a Lodge 2qt Dutch Oven (but not the DO with legs). Its lid also fits very well onto a Lodge 8" dia cast iron frypan/skillet and so can turn that into a smaller height DO.

We also have a stainless 2 qt saucepan with two pour spouts and a clear lid that serves to strain contents through perforations. We use this to heat water for coffee and oatmeal in the morning and have a little stainless pitcher we can fill with milk and lower inside the pan of water. This serves to heat both the water and milk at the same time. The little pitcher is easily removed with a fork.

Heated water then goes into a Freiling stainless french press which is double-walled to keep the coffee hotter longer. We use the 0103 model which gives us each a mug and a half of great coffee after 4 minutes of steeping. It may sound complicated but it's really fast, easy, and better tasting than our old percolator coffee.

Hope this helps. I'm sure there are other and better ways and accessories for cooking, etc. and some of the folks on this forum can improve on our start.
