......we just cozied up to the fire, sipped an eggnog, and enjoyed the season, knowing before long we'd be heading out on our annual trek to the southwest for our annual winters respite.:)
 
In Cherryville, NC they shoot black powder guns off at midnight on New Years Eve to ward off evil spirits. Upsetting to a newcomer to the area!
