Hi ladies (and gents who are reading)!

As I was driving home from my camping trip on Sunday, I got to thinking (which, if you ask my husband, is a dangerous thing). I know of several ladies in our parts who are camping on their own. The NWRU (NW Round Up) is great for anyone to come and camp, but I am wondering if any ladies would like to have a "tear-drop sisters" gathering? It would be open to anyone who wants to camp, of course (tents, teardrops, other trailers, under the stars, etc), but a ladies only event. Sorry fellas...secret society!

If you normally camp with your husband, you will have other ladies to help you out, so it is a win-win and no need to worry that you can't back in, or don't know how to do something. We learn from each other!

Maybe we could add a special event each time, like zip lining (for Jenn!), horseback riding, special hikes, wine tasting, etc. It could very based on folks interests and activity levels. Geez, we could even bring in a fly fisherman to teach us the ropes or we could picnic on the beach! Skies the limit, and we might even get a group rate on some of the stuff.

Let me know your thoughts and maybe we cold set something up.

Maybe you could start the Midwest Chapter of 'Teardrop Sisters!' Do it, do it! Maybe if we get things rolling, we could have a bigger event down the road!
 
Sarah, sounds like a fun group to put together. I think our summer will be full, but I'll be anxious to hear about whenever the first "event" occurs. Kathy
 
I am interested. Will the lad be with you Sarah? I have no plans for August as of yet. I thought maybe sometime in September (although I have two trips planned already) or October when all the kids are back in school and the campgrounds might be easier to get.

By the way, I can now back up. I have been successfully backing into my RV storage spot and I backed into my site at the RV park on the Rogue. WhoooHooo!!

Since I have taken most of my vacation, it would need to be a weekend get together. If we plan something to do, I will board Bailey. I don't feel comfortable leaving him alone in the camper or the car.

Cool! Let's work on some dates. I am going to invite my sister inlaw along too. She is awesome.

Summer is filling up. I have the weekends of either the 18th or the 25th of August available, or I could do the weekend of the 29th September. This is the first summer that has ever looked this full. It is crazy!

Do any of those work for other folks? Let me know and we can work something out.

As for laddy, I think I will leave him home with daddy, so I can go play! No boys allowed! :)

By the way, congrats on your new skill! That is awesome! I did really well for 2 weeks, then when I got home, Mick came out and was watching and I couldn't get the trailer in the driveway. So annoying! Plus, I think I had had too much coffee, so my patience was a little short. Laddy while playing later that day, did say, "look mama, my truck can't back up, just like you!" Little stinker!
 
As far as the girls trip, maybe we should try to plan one for next year. We can figure out a date well ahead of time, and then work on the details. Plus, not sure about you all, but my calendar is wide open! This year has really filled up! Let me know what you think!
 
I agree. I think that planning something for next year is a good idea. With limited time off, my summer is pretty full and time seems to be flying.
