Get the slack out

Evan asked me to post this information. We both have Curt class III hitches. I like them because they are easy to install, have a great powder coat finish and look tough. To go with the hitch we bought this insert which takes all the slack out of the hitch. It is very nice and provides me with complete peace of mind...ever pull a U-Haul with a sloppy hitch?

Kent,
Thanks for posting. Evan told me about these - I'm definately going to check these out.

Yes, this is a great product. You can grab that hitch and shake it and there is NO play. Your whole vehicle will be rocking but that's it.
Also, the locking slug is nice. With that and a locking pin on the trailer you are basically theft proof.

Instead of a slug, you have a threaded bolt. Not hard at all with a good socket wrench. (don't forget to unlock it before you start cranking away)

Bob, the insert has lots of play when inserted. As the hitch pin is tightened that little brass bar expands to lock the insert against the receiver. Very cool!

Hi Kent,
I looked around here for that quiet ride hitch. The lowest price I found locally was over $100.00. I ordered one from the place you got yours from. Seems to be the best price. I can't wait to see how it works. Thanks for the heads up on that.

Thanks Kent - That does sound very innovative.

Hi Kent,
I just wanted you to know that we got our camper out of storage today and used the quiet ride hitch you recommended.
Love it! No more banging from the hitch! Definitely a highly recommended must have! Thanks for posting about it.

Charlie, it's great to know you like it. To me it just seems so solid and affords such peace of mind. It's like the trailer is really attached and not kinda-sorta hooked-up.
