Florida Gulf Coast

If you are thinking of staying at a county or state park, you had better reserve ASAP. At that time of year, virtually all Saturdays and nearly all Fridays are booked way in advance, especially the farther south you get.

Looking for camping spots from Apalachicola to Tampa along the coast mid March.

St George Island State Park is very close. I would recommend Grayton Beach State Park, and St Joe State Park. Have stayed at all of them and enjoyed them all. St Andrews is more commercial, but catch the ferry to Shell Island. The oysters are to die for at Apalachicola! Have fun!

Thanks for the reply. Grayson Beach SP (we honeymooned there years ago with no crowds) was full but we've
secured spots at St. Andrews, Ochlockonee & Manatee Springs SP's. Yeah, those oysters are the best. Will check
out Shell Island, sounds like fun.
