First trip

We are getting ready for our first weekend camping in our Raindrop. Tonight was spent setting up the kitchen. This weekend we will be at Oconee State Park in the mountains of a South Carolina. Finally the weather and our schedules are cooperating to let us get out for our maiden voyage.

Hi Warren & Me,
You all must be so excited. Hope you have a wonderful first camping trip. Can't wait to hear how your weekend went. We pick up our 560 in 28 days.

I also upgraded from tent camping and it is so much easier getting ready to go. I still have that uneasy feeling that I have forgotten something because it used to take me all day one day to pack the car and the next morning packing the ice chests and last minute stuff. Now everything is ready except my clothes and refrigerator. I can even pack that the night before if I want to get an early start.
I love the refrigerator but still haven't quite learned how to handle the stuff I don't want frozen. The last time I put the really delicate vegetables and boiled eggs in one of those little insulated lunch boxes and slipped in a frozen ice pack and put the whole thing in the refrigerator. It worked great but I only went for four days. If I go for longer I take an ice chest for vegetables and fruits. It's all a learning experience.

We had great weekend. I am a cyclist and was helping to put on a charity ride so we camped close to the ride since I had to be up early on Saturday. Oconee State Park is a place we have camped a lot at over the years. It is in the mountains of SC. We loved the 560 and the ease of getting set up at the site once we arrived. We knew the workmanship was top notch and were not disappointed at all. From m our experience this weekend, we can see it will be easier to go camping. With the tent, it was all day task to get everything together. We will go out once or twice in the next month and this summer we are looking at heading West.

We took our 550 out for our first camping trip this past weekend. We headed to Hartman Creek, Waushara County, WI. We did a lot of planning ahead of time to best utilize all the space provided for storage. I am so glad that we purchased the storage trays which fit under the galley storage area. They are great additions. I also found some pots and pans which fit inside of one another and have a detachable handle. We had some comments or how organized we were. The camping trip was fantastic. It almost seemed surreal that this camper is actually ours. Heading out next weekend the Wyalusing State Park, Prarie du Chien WI. Can't wait! I'd add pictures if I could figure out how to do it. Oh well...Happy camping to all.
