Electric Pump for Faucet

Hey All,

Just got back from a great weekend at Pedernales Falls State Park and cleaning the trailer and quick test of things before putting it away and found that the electric pump for the faucet wont'shut off.

It worked fine all weekend but now it just keeps going as long as the switch is on even though the faucet is off.

I plan on emailing Cary tomorrow for suggestions but thought I would reach out here first. Any thoughts?

Is the tank empty? If so, try adding some water. Then try turning off the faucet before you completely empty the tank. Good luck.

I think it pumped the water out the overflow. At the campground, I was hooked up to water. I still had about 1/3 water in the tank and using the campground water.

I got home and backed the trailer up to my garage and went inside for a few mins. I came back out and notice some water on the ground and the pump running. I shut it off and put water in the tank but now it just keeps running. If I leave the pump on without the faucet on, it seems to pump the water out of the tank.

My gray water says it is 1/3 full.

Sounds like there is an air bubble in the pump. Fill the water tank and let the faucet run full stream for about a minute. Then try shutting the faucet off. That should take care of it.

If the pump runs but water doesn't come out of the faucet, try creating suction on the faucet itself (similar to siphoning gas) and water should come out of the faucet fairly quickly.

Thanks. Just tried that but didn't seem to make any difference.

Even when the pump is running and the faucet full open and water coming out the faucet, water seems to still be leaking/streaming out the bottom, like an overflow or something.

Jay,

Did you experience any overnight freezing temps? What you are describing sounds like a cracked water strainer. This is the filter for the pump and the part most prone to freeze damage. It has a clear plastic cover that will split when frozen.

Cary

Thanks Cary. No freezing temps. Only got down to mid 40s at night.

FYI, it is not leaking otherwise. When pump switch is off and faucet is off, nothing seems to be leaking. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Props to Cary and this forum for the great support. Looks like the problem was a loose hose clamp.

I should have this fixed shortly.

I'm glad it was something simple. It is always good to hear of others experiences so that if I experience something similar I know where to check. Thanks for sharing.
