I’ve lubed it, but I think the lock is shot. It worked fine, and then it didn’t.

Do I buy an entire handle? To keep the keys matching, do I buy both exterior handles?

I would take it to a locksmith first.

I replaced both handles when one of mine failed. Camp Inn sells replacement handles.

    Al,

If the key does not turn, then it needs more lubricant.

If the key turns, but doesn't lock, the lock is shot and it cannot be repaired.

If you go to the online store on the Camp-Inn website, you can order a new pair.

Thanks. The key turns freely, but the door won't lock. Time for a new lock!

It's really hard to climb in and out through the tiny window!! (Kidding!)

Is it possible to get a new lock that will use the old key, or should I just bite the bullet and buy two new door handles and locks, so I can have matching keys?.....

[I just realized that the door locks only come as a pair, so, problem solved (re the keys matching)]

    Got my locks/handles.

    Any special instructions?

Once you get into it you’ll find it pretty straightforward.

Apply your #2 Phillips screwdriver to the exterior screws, top & bottom.
Carefully ease out the old handle, paying attention to not damage the rubber gasket.
New one in! Firmly tighten the screws, but don’t strip them as they are into wood.

The hardest part may be keeping your old and new keys straight...

thanks! Re the keys, we are replacing both doors and the galley. (Though maybe I’ll feel differently after replacing the first.)
