Door not locking with Key

I just took Rosy Lee for her bi-annually MVI and when I did my final walk round before pulling out from the driveway I found one of the doors unlocked. I knew I had already locked them the night before and no matter what I did with the key the door would not lock from the outside.

Before I start pulling things apart has anyone else had this issue and what was the resolution.

I can still lock it from the inside

You don't think someone 'picked' it overnight? Nothing missing? Other than that, I have not heard of anyone else having that issue.
Will the key still turn in the lock? Maybe try to spray a bit of silicon into the lock to see if it frees up some stuck innards?? Good luck with it.

No she was in the Garage overnight I had her all ready for an early start just backed up the TV and pulled her out so no lock picking.

The key turns fine but just wont lock the door. No camping this weekend as Arthur is visiting us so i will get the tool chest open and have a look today. Worst case new lock at least I can still lock from the inside but I hate doing that in case the other lock fails.

Not ideal of course, but as to locking from the inside, if you leave the window closed but not locked, I know I read on here that you can slide the window open from outside, and then very gently push the screen in to unlock the door. And then reseal the screen.

So if it were to happen the other door lock suddenly won't work, you have an option. (Until you get either or both replaced/fixed).

So the outside handle part of the lock is defunct when I removed it you can turn it past the locking position a quarter turn which is why it would not keep the door locked so email to Cary for a replacement part today.

For any one else's information the outside and inside are two completely separate parts and both have no option for repair apart from lubrication so this is just a parts failure and not a quality issue. I also noted that there is a small gap under the handle on the inside where you can spray lubricant so this is a good annual task when lubricating the outside of the locks.

I also have to compliment Camp Inn on another quality item the screws that hold the inside lock on are a decent size not ever likely to pull out. Its these little items that make this product so good.

Glad to hear you figured things out. And thanks for the tip on lubing the inside locks.

This is what this Forum is all about learning from others and having the manufacturers on here is a great source of information.
