Oh that is depressing! So according to that article, if ya get an infestation yer pretty much cooked. So how would that work with an RV, of any kind? Be specific to a CI though.

  4. Hi George,

Well, I've read several articles on the subject (approx 3yrs).

Most of the past information centered on " Hotel / Motels " stays, which is how they (Bedbugs/Ticks?)were getting around," Hitching Rides " on visitors " Luggage & Clothing ".

This is one of the many reason's why.., I try to avoid the " Hotels/ Motels ".

Oh, I also avoid motels, hotels, etc. That being said, I don't normally take my shell with me when traveling north in the winter. I used to live up there and am very familiar with road conditions and driving.
But my question reffered to If the CI were to become infested, are you in for a tough fight, with a possibility of a lot of heart ache?
Now then for those that may read this and are not worried about them, worry not,
according to NBC news, they carry no disease, they just want your blood and cause an itchy situation. Whoops mis stated that was lice.

    Nice topic ehhhh!

  6. Hey George,

After giving some thought on how to get rid of them ..HMMMM !

    DELOUSING A RAINDROP:
    1. Large Tarp or two taped together with Duct Tape
    2. Duct Tape
    3. Raid Fogger
    http://www.killsbugsdead.com/fop_fkpf.asp

    http://www.killsbugsdead.com/fop_cdrf.asp
" Use the fogger in your apartment, home, attic, basement, cabin, garage, storage areas, shed, or camper. "

Start by stripping down the bedding (leave Mattress ??)and opeing all the doors & storage areas.
Tent the " Raindrop " with the Tarp & use the Duct Tape to hold down the edges on the ground floor, to try for an " Airtight Vapor Barrier ". Then use the " Fogger " & let it sit for a few days.

I would give it at least two applications, just to be on the safe side.

You should also consider tossing out the " Mattress " for new one.
    p.s.: I would personally toss it !!!

This could all be done in the " Garage "..

  7. Hey Guys & Gals,

I've been watching a TV Show : Discovery Channel ; Animal Planet.

    The Monster Inside Me
    http://animal.discovery.com/tv/monsters-inside-me/

It was very , very interesting !!

    I normally don't drink any water ( hey, I like Beer ) unless it's bottled , and I rarely do !

I'm currently using a portable water filration unit @ home & recently purchsed a smaller one for the ' Raindrop "..

    2. Raindrop : PUR ( Wallymart )

We found the " PUR " to be very convenient for our last " Roadtrip " excursion !

Bed bugs & lice! :p A very good reason to have your own home-away-from home using your own stuff.

Think I'll pass on the show Monsters Inside Me - already have the creepy crawlies just thinking about this!

  9. This was simply an " FYI ", for those that " Travel "... !

Most people think, this kind of stuff only occurs abroad, outside of the " USA ".
Or what some might consider " Third World Nations, etc.

Just be " Aware " info.
