CICO 2012 Attendee Tips: The Cabin

So CICO 2012 is over (for me anyway, have to work tomorrow, some lucky people are staying longer) but part of my personal "mission" <grin> while I was there was to ask anyone I met what accessory or tip they have to suggest. Everyone had wonderful suggestions. Almost all of them are already covered on this forum in other threads, but I'm going to mention them again.

There were so many wonderful tips I'm going to break them up into groupings, from the inside out. So here's CICO 2012 Attendee Tips: the Cabin

- For your clothing organization, either ebags packing cubes (http://www.ebags.com/category/travel-accessories/packing-aids/packing-cubes or from Amazonhttp://www.amazon.com/eBags-Packing-Cubes-3pc-Set/dp/B004C0XZM4) or from ikea, the collapsable diagonal zip rectangles. (I couldn't find an IKEA link)

- If you get a mattress topper, like egg crate or memory foam, when you make your bed with the fitted sheet; just make the topper--not the entire mattress. That way you don't have to move that mattress around.

- If you don't have a furnace, get either a mattress heating pad, or an electric blanket (12 volt); they only need to be on for a few minutes to warm up nicely on a cold evening, so most of the time only draws power for a few minutes, then you can turn them off. Try to get one with a timer; so it automatically turns off if you are so comfy as soon as you turn in you fall asleep.

- 3m command strip cell phone holder:http://www.amazon.com/Command-Smart-Station-1-Caddy-2-Pack/dp/B007RKFDF8 Sure, hooks for keys, hooks for just about anything... but your cell phone needs a resting place, too.

- A covered plastic bin to put your (potentially) damp shoes in--and then slide under the camper by your door. So in case you don't have the side tent--or didn't bother to put it up--you can have your shoes handy and dry and right there.

- Make yourself a "shower kit". I've done this years ago for business trips...and it morphed into the same kit I use for tenting (and now will use for teardropping). Maybe I'll do a separate "what's in your shower kit" thread; that's obviously a personal choice--mine has stuff because I'm a girl and have longish straight hair; but sharing what is in your kit may help others.
