First, sorry for the misleading title, my backup lights are not burned, but they sure looked like it.
We were sitting in camp behind the trailer and I noticed the backup lights had an irregular brown stain around the bulb. I checked that the lights were still working and put it on my list to check at home. Back home I disassembled the lights and found that a liberal amount of dielectric grease had been applied to the connections which is generally a good idea. However, these lights are not sealed so the grease migrated inside the light housing making the effect I was seeing.
I guess this is not a big deal as the lights work, but being me, I replaced the lights with LED based units. Unfortunately, the ones I purchased did not quite fit in the holes Camp-Inn made so I modified them to fit. If anyone is interested, I can post details on the lights I bought and the modification I made to put them in.
I am totally happy with the resulting lights.
