Boot Bins for Bad Weather Camping

One problem with camping in cold or wet weather, is that you don't want to get your wet snow-covered boots all over your bed. At the same time, you don't want to leave the door open more then a few seconds while you take them off.

Here's a trick we've found during our days in the frigid Cascades:

Open the door, and swing your feet directly into the tupperware boot bin while closing the door behind you. Finish taking off your wet boots at your leisure while staying warm in the cabin. We store the boot bins in the front compartments. (They are the perfect size for two tupperware containers - each with a pair of adult boots.)

 

Clever idea Evan. I really like that. Now I need to find one of Tupperware party persons.

 

Actually, I was using 'tupperware' generically. Check out Wal-Mart, Freddies or Target. Just look for something 14"x11".

 

Yah, it's what I now use... just a simple wash tub. I guess you could leave them outside if you have a lid on it.. but easier just to drop them off in the tub and then pull the tum inside on the upper shelf (older campers that is)

 

Nothing wrong with older campers! I am one and I have one!

 

Evan, Is that a line of frozen condensation on the wall of your Camp-Inn? Are you able to store your camper in side and allow to dry out or does the furnace do OK, so that it is not damp when you return? Just curious.

Yes, Steve - that's the frozen condensation on the wall. Good eye - Hilditch noticed it too. We store the camper in our garage, and I ran the furnace for a couple of hours last night after we got home to make sure things got very dry.
