Big Bend National Park

BL

Newbie
My wife and I bought our Camp Inn 550 a year ago and it has opened a whole new world for both us. I have NEVER been one to camp out. Since we have received our Camp Inn we have traveled to the Canadian Rockies for our 20th wedding anniversary, Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Texas, Kearney, Nebraska and various spots in Kansas. I have always wanted to visit Big Bend and this January we checked that off my bucket list. Below I have added some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Tried to limit the pics with the Camp Inn included. For those of you who have thought of visiting Big Bend National Park....GO VISIT!! It is very impressive. We camped at Primitive Roadsite Campsites the whole week for $12.00. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

Those Big Bend pictures are fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Could you comment on the road conditions getting into these remote areas? Does one need a high clearance 4 wheel drive? Thanks.

The Rangers will guide you when you ask for the off-road camps. All the camps we stayed at were accessible by my 4WD Toyota Tacoma. Most of the camps we stayed could be accessible by 2WD. Cary at Camp Inn told me the 550 has a clearance of 12 inches (that is with the off road addition). Hope that helps. Please keep in mind that the off road camp grounds accessiblity changes with rain and weather. Just check with the Rangers and they will give you sound but conservative advice.
