Banff National Park – Two Jack Main (Two Jack Main campground)
- Very large campground 380 sites
- Campground has many ~6-8 site small loops with toilets (running water) and communal cook shelters with sinks for dishes near-by --> careful how close to toilets you stay as there can be an odour
- It is well treed (which helped provide lots of places to tie tarp on that rainy weekend)
- Free firewood (nightly fire permit charge when you book) although wood is left in a large pile out in the open. Hunting through the pile found wood of various levels of dryness; bring an axe though to split larger pieces and make kindling
- Parks Canada opens reservation system early in the year (like January) for the whole year prime weekends gone in a hurry
- Alcohol ban on long weekends
- Parkies were at our site 2 mins after 11:00 pm to “remind us” that fires need to be out at 11:00 (even though it was basically coals already and we were not making noise
- Given the rain and the kids being happy to bike around and through our little loop, we didn’t really do anything besides hang out around fire and had a lunch in Banff – but plenty to see/do in rest of park
- Would return
