Back Lee State Park

Discussion in 'Trip Planning' started by Warren Mary Ellen, Aug 27, 2019.

  1. Heading out this weekend to where else, but a SC State Park. We are going to back to Lee State Park in the Sandhills of South Carolina. Our reason for camping other than we really liked our June stay here is that it is close the Darlington Raceway where will go to the Southern 500 NASCAR race Sunday evening. Our daughter is coming down from North Carolina to be with us. Saturday, we are probably just going to have a lazy day at the park. In June we mainly just camped and used as a base to visit other state parks nearby, so this time we'll check it out a little more thoroughly this time. Sunday we'll be at the race for most of the day and evening. We go lucky at the beginning of the summer with the temps being cooler than normal for that part of the state in the summer and it looks like we are going to get lucky again. Highs are only supposed to be in the mid 80s whereas it can be well into the upper 90s so we'll take it.

Later in Sept we are at Keowee-Toxaway State Park and October at Sadler's Creek State Park.
