We just returned from our 2859 mile trip to Minnesota, of course, stopping in Wisconsin at Camp-Inn along the way for some tender loving care on HAPENEST #269. We enjoyed seeing the factory again and meeting with Craig, Cary and Marty. As usual Craig and Camp-Inn did a fantastic job on the repairs and upgrades that needed to be done. Now it's as good as new. Craig also gave us a couple of good places to stop along our way to Minnesota on a very nice route along the Mississippi. One of those places was the Lark Toy Store/Factory. It was amazing. The store itself is huge and sells and displays old toys, new toys and handmade wooden toys of all kinds that you can see them making in the factory. There is a handmade carousel that has every animal but horses on it. They sell delicious fudge and have live Llamas outside the store. It was great! Now Cary was not as good in predicting the weather for the area for that time of year. :) We had sleet, snow and freezing temperatures for the next 6 days instead of beautiful warm sunny weather. Love you anyway Cary. We camped in Minneapolis which to our surprise was covered in snow when we got there. We spent the entire next day in The Mall of America which was also an amazing site to see. It has an amusement park in the center of it and is 4 levels high. There is every store and type of restaurant you can think of in it, a movie theater, the Mayo Clinic and a hotel. Plus it kept us warm and dry. We wanted to stay longer, but unfortunately more snow was said to be coming the next day so we left in the morning and headed south to Rochester MN. Good thing we did because we heard Minneapolis got hit with over a foot of snow. From here we headed back to Camp-Inn to pick up our trailer and headed home. All points northeast and northwest of Wisconsin where we wanted to go were getting snow so we just made our way home. If you are looking to stay some place warm, clean and friendly use these campgrounds in your travels. The Rochester/Marion KOA Rochester MN and South Bend/Elkhart KOA Granger,IN and Madison KOA Deforest WI and Bellefonte/State College Bellefonte PA. Glad to be home for now.

Oh yeah!! Springtime in Minnesota has been long overdue. Can't remember a previous year quite like this.....winter just has not wanted to leave! So today we are rejoicing!! It's 10 am on Saturday morning, the sun is out and the birds are chirping. And best of all, the thermometer on our deck is already at 64'F, with a prediction to be in the 70's again (yesterday was too)! Our first camping trip of the season is not planned until May 10-12. We'll be headed up to northern Minnesota to the Gilbert/Eveleth area to do some camping and offroad Jeeping. However, they still had about 20 inches of snow on the ground at the beginning of this week. We're praying for lots of melting to occur...but no matter what, snow or no snow we'll be going....can't wait!!!
