The Baltimore Orioles are making their way through Chicago right on schedule. These were in the back yard apple tree this morning.

    Ken,
Gorgeous! We have Hooded Orioles nesting in palm trees. At times, I can get my whistle just right and mimic the male. I once got a female to come within 3 feet of me!

    Orioles are a favorite bird!
You are a very accomplished photographer!

    Ken,
is the 2nd picture an orchard oriole? Our Baltimore Orioles and Catbird are back too. We are waiting for the hummingbirds.
    Nice pics.

Thanks Anna&Steve, Eileen, & Pat. I've seen a bigger variety of birds this year than I've ever seen, although I've only been watching birds for a few years. And Pat, that is an Orchard Oriole - I put it in the wrong spot. That's a bird that I haven't seen before this year, and so far I've spotted it 3 times in 3 different places around Chicago. BTW, there was also a hummingbird out in the yard this morning - 1st one seen this year, so you should be seeing them soon.

Thanks George. I hope you're not dealing with flood waters where you live - it looks like things are just about peaking in Memphis. What a year for weather.
