    Attention all Camp-Inn lovers!

We have booked the Piney Woods Group Area of North Bend Park for our 2nd Annual MAUCICCO Gathering.
Arrival date: Thursday, August 7, 2014
Departure date: Sunday, August 10, 2014

We were few in number in 2013, but everyone had a good time at a great location. We are hoping our event will grow in numbers in 2014!

    Here are some additional details:

North Bend Park in Boydton, VA , on the John H. Kerr Reservoir.

For lack of a better name, the 2nd Annual M-AUC-ICC-O (Mid-Atlantic Unofficial Camp-Inn Community Camp-Out). (Prounounced Maw-see-co) How is that for a mouthful?!!

North Bend is an Army Corps of Engineers campground on a large beautiful lake. We will be in group site A, which is located on it's own secluded peninsula, with a view of the dam. It has 19 individual well shaded sites, with a large lighted picnic shelter in the center. There is excellent beach access for great swimming, boating, and fishing. A boat launch is adjacent to the group site. There is a nice bike trail that runs through the rather large park, and playgrounds for the kids. No electric or water hook-ups, but there are two water spigots available, and electric in the shelter. There is a nicely maintained vault toilet at the entrance to the group site. Flush toilets and hot showers are within walking distance.

There will be a nominal fee, depending on the number of attendees, to cover the site rental fee.

This event is open to all Camp-Inn afficionados. Tents and other brands of campers are welcome.

Any help or suggestions with further planning of this event would be most appreciated.

We hope to hear from many of you, and look forward to camping with you, and sharing stories and ideas!

Below is a link to photos from one of our previous trips to this campground. It's not the group site, but may give an idea of how nice this lake is.

Darn, can't make it. We'll still be in Canada-eh. Sounds like great fun. Hope you have a huge turn out.

    Camp On,

    Sue

  4. waiting to hear approval of Jerry's vacation time he just turned in the other day...

if coming does one just let you know (and send you a check or pay when we get there) or do we go to the reserve America site and register there?

Might want to put this out on tearjerkers or teardrop & tiny travel trailers sites...

We sure hope you can make it, Tina & Jerry! We have already paid the $100 per day rental for the entire group area. We will divide that cost up by the number of trailers in attendance, and everyone can pay us when they get there. Last year, everyone (8 "units") contributed around $40 total, for all 3 nights.
The kind of response we get on this forum will determine if we add our event to the Tearjerker's calendar. There is a limit to how many total people are permitted to camp in the group area, and we would like for people on this forum to have the first opportunity to get on board.

  6. Jim & Jamie looks like you can mark us down for attending :)
Looking forward to this gathering. So do we need to register online? or are we good to come as is and will reimburse you upon arrival.

Jerry & Tina, So happy to hear that you will be making the trek east, to attend MAUCICCO #2! Let's hope the weather warms up by then!!

We have already reserved the entire group site, and paid for it. Attendees can pay us when they arrive. We will divide the 3 night TOTAL of $300 between the number of trailers that attend, so that amount is TBD. We will need your name and license plate # so the gate attendant knows who to let in. You can PM us the info when you get a chance.

Spread the word! We would love to see this event grow!

Doing some serious thinking about this one! Looks like a lot of fun!

  9. I've got it on our calendar and hope to confirm as we get closer. Few things still up in the air before a final ok. But it looks fantastic and we wanted to come last year. We'll be in touch!

We would love to be there but one of our daughters is expecting her first baby in early August... She lives in Durham, NC which isn't very far away from the camp ground - so who knows, if the baby is late or early, maybe we'll show up...

We sure hope you can make it, Eric & Joan, although we understand how a brand new grandchild would take precedent. Hopefully baby will decide to arrive safely, and in a timely manner! Durham is only 1:15 from the campground, so that is in your favor!

Yeah, I'm hoping we can combine the trip to meet the new family member with the MAUCICCO....

Just a reminder......6 weeks until the 2nd Annual MAUCICCO at North Bend Park on the beautiful Kerr Lake, near Boydton, VA.

Let's hope we get some more attendees, so this doesn't end up being our "Last Annual MAUCICCO"!! Who's in???

We will try to come next year when we have our trailer! What does the MAUCICCO stand for? I figure part of it is 'camp in camp out'!

MAUCICCO=Mid-Atlantic Unofficial Camp-Inn Community Camp Out!

Do you have a tent, Diane! Tenters are welcome too!

If you go to the beginning of this thread, you will find all of the details, and links to pictures and a video of last years gathering. It's a great location!

If you leave by tomorrow, Jenn, that should allow plenty of time to get to the East coast!!

    Hi Jim and Jamie,

Sadly, in August, I cannot get away from work. But next year it is a totally different story as I will be retired (Michael already is), and work won't prevent us from attending. We do have a tent and would be there with it if we could. Hope it isn't the 'last' MAUCICCO. Have a wonderful time!

    Thanks,
    Diane

    Just confirmed another attendee!

The illustrious Doggorunning of YouTube fame, and his family will be there. You may also know him as Lenny357 on this forum. We have some other friends that haven't committed yet, but I should know for sure in the next couple of days.

    Spread the word!!
