We are looking at buying a Camp Inn in the near future, but were hoping to take a tour of the factory and stop by to see one. Serendipitously, we've had a camping spot at Buckhorn State Park reserved since last October. Are we able to swing by this event and check out a lot of Camp Inns at once? Maybe stop by for the tour we were hoping to book before we knew the Camp Inn Camp Out was happening?

Seems like we planned a good time to camp at Buckhorn.

Looking forward to becoming an owner some day soon!

How do I sign up? I’m only 112 miles away. I might want to schedule installation of solar panels before camping.

Absolutely! You will need to purchase a day pass at the park office. All the info you need is on the Camp-Outt website, including tour times for Saturday and Sunday. Even if you are only planning on joining us for the day, please register, so we have a count on numbers attending.

FYI - If you are attending the CICO and need work done on your trailer:

The week leading up to the CICO, and the week following the CICO are reserved for repairs/work on trailers for those traveling from at least 300 miles away. In order to get on the schedule, you need to contact Cary directly, either by phone or email. No repairs will be scheduled for Friday, September 23.

So this is exactly what I did in 2011. Stopped by for a Saturday, took the factory tour, and walked around and looked at so many small campers. What was also great is CICO isn't 'just' CampInn trailers. Home-builts, cargo conversions, small airstreams, Luna, Tag and Tab etc etc... depending upon the year of course and who attends, there's a lot of them to look at, and everyone attending is happy to give the nickel tour of their setup.

(by CICO 2012... I had mine on order, and I tented it for that CICO weekend, and walked around and asked everyone their "favorite thing")

Edit: I looked up my posts from 2012 from when I pestered everyone I talked to at CICO about their setups. I suspect all the links now are invalid, but maybe it'll be helpful:

I've registered, but we won't be camping. You should see a registration for Brian, Katie, and Mr Ruxpin (our pooch). Thanks!

I just registered. I’ll most likely schedule my work to the trailer at some other time as I’m only two hours away.

On a side note I would like to say I moved to Wisconsin after picking up my raindrop in 2017 and attending the 2019 CICO. The North Country is heaven on earth. After both of my trips here I traveled US8.

So far, this year's numbers are about average for attendance. Our largest was the 10th CICO in 2013, with over 200 people and 115+ camping units.

The park has a total of 330 campsites in three separate areas (A, B & C). Area B has several permanent campers. All Areas have electric and nonelectric sites. Area A is where the Camp-Outt takes place. There are 99 sites (all but 11 are electric) in this area. The sites here, though marked with a site number, are quite large and have no visible boundaries. This makes it ideal for the Camp-Outt. Upon your arrival, the park simply assigns you a campsite # only for registration purposes and then you are free to cruise around the Area and decide where you want to set up camp. There are often several campers on one "site," although each camper will have been registered to other sites. The park does not take reservations after mid-September, so there is no advance campsite registration. Because we are a well behaved lot and bring in a large chunk of $ at a time when the park would typically be empty, the park pretty much lets us do our own thing.

My 9 year old daughter is asking: Is anyone else bringing kids to the CICO?

Currently, there are about 7 kids between ages 2-10 registered.

I just discovered a conflict with the CICO. The Ogema, WI Christmas Tree Festival is the same weekend.

Not a conflict! Rather, an additional option for something to do, albeit, a bit of a drive! ;)
