    Itinerary Nw Round-up 2015

Re: NW Round up I am thinking Mid July would be best for us too, rather than the 4th weekend. Mick reminded me that we were invited by my aunt for the 4th, and I think we are planning that. Oregon State Park allow dogs, but they always need to be leashed or in your unit. They are pretty...

Thanks so much Patty! We just do our best and are hoping for a good outcome when that kid turns into an adult. He is a pretty good kid so far...trying to make sure that sticks! Plus, having fun is fun, so we try to do that a lot! :) Hopefully we will see you at the NWRU in July, if not sooner!

    Protecting Galley/Table

I put my stand on a towel on top of the cooler and wrap it around the edge. We noticed some marring, and that was easy. The towel kept things from sliding at all too.

    550 / 560 Loaded Weight - 560 Ultra

I did. I was packed for a two week trip and was at 1660. This was before my extra batteries and such. Mine started at 1505. Not sure if the weight has been cut back a bit or if it was just my options.

    volt meter readings

Well, I had about 2 weeks of stress over this on our big trip this summer, so I had to learn on the fly. When I am thrown in, I can sometimes pick some stuff up. The numbers mean certain things to me, but everything else goes right over me. You should see all of the things Mick builds. He is a...

    volt meter readings

Here is what I experienced this summer when my car wasn't charging my trailer while driving (turns out there was a short in my wiring which Mick has fixed since we have been home after speaking with Land Rover about the issue, but I digress). The drop for 12.7-12.2 seems to happen quicker...

Mike, just make sure you leave your instruments in Indiana. The bats you know, they don't like them! ;) Hee hee!

    volt meter readings

Mick was shocked that I knew 11.6 was about 20%, and sent me this chart to share. It will be handy to have!

    Itinerary Nw Round-up 2015

Summer in Portland, you are going to run into nasty traffic. Word got out and folks have started coming here to vacation during the summer. Everything speeds up, gums up, and is crazier than when the rains are here. We find rush hour starts around 2:45-3:15 in the afternoon during summer and...

    The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

Oh boy! He looks like one of those party animals I have read about (and experienced). Hide the beer! :)

Leave your musical instrument at home PLEASE!

Ashewolf, it doesn't seem to be working. They are still coming in droves. Didn't you hear, "Portland is where the young go to retire!" Maybe we need to get more bats! :) I kid....mostly.

Leave your musical instrument at home PLEASE!

Maybe he was sent by neighboring campers because they weren't enjoying the music. Those bats with rabies can be manipulated so easily! Or maybe the bat had sleeping babies in the nest and had had enough. They are usually nocturnal, and it looked pretty light. You just never know! The friends...

    OR - Silver Falls, Oregon

Dave, have you had a look at the group site or stayed there? I am curious, because I drove through it 2 years ago while we were camped there. There was a central grassy area that was surrounded with pylons that would prevent any trailers from being on it. I don't remember seeing other good spots...

    "Washing Machine"?

Woah! Has anyone seen this before? Super smart for laundry. Might ask for one for my birthday! https://www.thegrommet.com/scrubba?utm_campaign=20140918&utm_content=19093&utm_medium=email&utm_source=CC&trk_msg=RHHI9SLM84NKNEMRUESA0VUBBK&trk_contact=1SCCV4ARGUFG65S70J1MCGHKOG

    Interior heaters/furnaces

Ah-ha! Had never thought of that. I always wondered how some people got so much stuff in there, and that would explain it.

    Interior heaters/furnaces

I use our fan all of the time, but it prefer a cool breeze (wish I had one in our bedroom at home that was silent...that is my biggest issue with the fantastic fan, but some nights, I appreciate that white noise). I don't have the AC and this was the first summer where I wished I had it. Our...

No! I meant the BKTs! This K is still trying to camp. We'll see. We did just get back from England though. Good to be home.

    Nahalem Bay State Park (Manzanita)

I know Jenn did a review of Nahalem Bay State Park, but not sure if that was under her adventures thread or if I am missing it. We stayed here over the summer with the Lad's school and did a weekend there. It helped my re-entry into society after a few weeks on the road. The campground is...

    OR - Silver Falls, Oregon

Is this the one you were looking for? http://www.campinnforum.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9172#Post9172 Not sure when you are headed but a few friends just visited and with the lack of rain fall, the waterfalls are not reaching their potential right now. They said it...

    The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

I have that one too. Got it a few years ago. I haven't had a situation recently where we have used it camping, but it was handy when I didn't have my cooler stand as an extra surface. They are sturdier than they look too (not for coolers, but in general).
